Giving Standup Comedy a Try (again)
By Simon
About Simon
I am a husband and a dad of two little girls. I am a lone Y chromosome and am already planning my escape strategy to deal with the estrogen flood that is on its way. People say there is a lot of joy to be found in the simple things and I have found they can provide a healthy dose of anti-awesome as well. I am, in general, a pretty optimistic guy and needed a bit of a creative outlet; so here it is. Thanks for stopping by.

If they made a movie about my life, the actor to play me would be whoever is best at walking around the house turning lights off.

I don’t mean to sound surprised, but I had no idea you were doing standup – and you’re friggin’ awesome. I am totally with you on the USB ports; one day, I’m gonna get it on the first try and my day is so going to rock. Will be sharing this hilarious routine on Facebook. Be prepared to be adored by a whole 350 people (most of whom I never hear from), unless I’ve pissed someone off today. Oh, and quit your day job. Prepare for greatness, my friend. I actually LOL’d. Multiple times.

You are too kind and I wouldn’t really say I am “doing standup” I have tried it 3 times and I have had a blast each time so I think that I am going to try and make it kind of a hobby. Thanks for sharing it with your vast network, I will brace for impact now haha. Seriously, thanks for watching / laughing.

I’m sure all of Jim Carrey’s offers are now headed for you. Actually, you really are quite good. Very relatable humor…and I don’t even have kids. I don’t blame you for keeping it as hobby as I’m sure you’d like to remain married, but don’t give it up completely. You’re good! Really!

Good stuff man! I used to go do open-mics when I lived in NYC. Sure as hell miss it now.
