I am a husband and a dad of two little girls. I am a lone Y chromosome and am already planning my escape strategy to deal with the estrogen flood that is on its way. People say there is a lot of joy to be found in the simple things and I have found they can provide a healthy dose of anti-awesome as well. I am, in general, a pretty optimistic guy and needed a bit of a creative outlet; so here it is. Thanks for stopping by.

My husband of 35 years, three daughters, and professor at an all-women’s college has said that occasionally he also has to get out of “girl-world”. You two should exchange notes, but his site isn’t up and running yet. (Yeah, that’s my job, but he does bathrooms….) Sign me up!

Bless your heart! My best friend and her husband have 5 girls ages 2 to 10. He wears floppy hats and pearls quite well at birthday parties and I’m pretty sure that far-away look in his eyes rarely leaves. But, thank God for men who love their daughters! 🙂

Hey, I love this blog, it’s hilarious! You have one witty pen! My family’s actually the opposite of yours…there’s 2 girls 2 boys but I’m autistic, which means “extreme male brain,” according to Baron-Cohen even though I’m a double-x, so it’s as though my mum lives with three guys. Simon, you sound like my husband. Outnumbered in his own house. Even our dog is a girl and the poor man sometimes looks quite forlorn! We also have two little girls! When I was pregnant with the second someone said of my husband “He must have been destined to be admired by women!” And he is. He’s certainly a hero in the eyes of the women in this household! Just remember that when you’re feeling outnumbered…you get to be a hero every day!

Sounds like my dad as well. Only brother to 4 older sisters, father to two daughters, and our dog is a boy but his manliness is chopped off so does he actually count?
